Alicia Hansen (creator and founder of Dark Idols) is a crafter/designer and visual media/marketing professional hailing from the mountains of Colorado. Though indulging in the darker aesthetic that comes with horror and the macabre, she began her creative endeavors as a professional fashion and portrait photographer. This work allowed for extensive travel and international publication, spanning roughly a decade before retiring from the genre and electing to pursue a formal Bachelor’s degree in graphic design and business. In 2023, she graduated with a (double) B.A. in Communication Design and Marketing. The same year, she began conceptualizing Dark Idols as an outlet for her occult and gothic inclinations. Drawing inspiration from music and a love for art, Dark Idols serves as a collection of decadent body care and gothic goods, including hand made soap, apparel, prints, and accessories.
